God reigns in power & glory! It revolves around the holy throne & altar of the LORD, Almighty! Seraphs call to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD, Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Fire is rising from his throne, an all-consuming flame, always!

Vibrations rise at the sound of the angel’s voices and the doorposts and thresholds of the temple shake as it fills with smoke. Unworthy & unclean! Isaiah is flooded with emotion as he stands before the God of everyone. Adonai is seated on his throne as his presence fills up the place.

`Isaiah cries out with the need to be cleansed. Sensing his shame, one of the seraphs grabs the tongs from the altar & lifts live coal to Isaiah’s lips. He needs to be purified and feels relieved as his guilt and sins are burned away.

But why is Isaiah here? Why has he come? It becomes clear as God says, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” God has called him to tell the people that they are walking in disobedience. Isaiah has a calling to be a messenger for God.  His mission is difficult! He feels unprepared as he stands before The Triune God to be commissioned for the work he was being called to do but newly cleansed he says, “Here am I. Send me!”

Declaration: Coming to the Altar of God can bring forgiveness, cleansing, and healing!

Prayer: Most Holy Father, I praise you for your altar; I know that your arms are open wide to receive me! Thank you for extending me grace, please forgive my sins, Lord! I ask that you would cleanse me; I need reconciliation with you! Show me how to walk in your presence, Jesus.

Today’s Assurance:  Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.  With it, he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  Isaiah 6:1-8
