Mom Life Prayer– then and now… Motherhood is an on-the-job training sort of thing!!! Although we have the Bible, we learn how to do THE MOM LIFE as we go along. Ultimately we live this life for Christ, for the win, even when it comes to being a MAMA!! Do you remember your first and how hard it was to figure things out!?!

If so, what are your BIG 3 !?! The 3 things you prayed when your babies were little? Maybe it’s 4 or 5 things you prayed or are praying now consistently.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.

As a young mom to my first, I can still look back and remember the exhaustion. Some of those AM feedings were brutal. I would wake up feeling like I had never slept. She would wake up every 3 hours to be fed, AROUND THE CLOCK! This is how I would pray!

Mom Life Prayer #1

  • Dear God, help me when I feel exhausted and overwhelmed. Be my provider so that I can get the sleep that I need. Please show me how to take care of my new baby. Allow me to be the best that I can be. Please give me moments with You so that I can feel refreshed and renewed. In Your name, amen.

The second one slept like a dream! By his first doctor’s appointment, he had lost weight because he wanted to sleep ALL THE TIME! I was told I had to undress him to wake him up for his scheduled feedings. SCHEDULED FEEDINGS!?! That was a new concept, but I learned fast because his schedule was good for all of us. BUT, my prayers changed as I struggled with parenting times two!

Mom Prayer Life #2

  • Dear God, help me because I am stretched beyond what I can handle. Allow me to get away for a time of restoration and improvement. Please show me how to be a better wife and mother. I can’t take much more and need Your grace, guidance, wisdom, and love to get me through the day. In Your precious name, amen.

By the third one, I had it figured out, SOMEWHAT!?! She was on a schedule when she came home from the hospital, but juggling life with three was a struggle. It was impossible to find time to myself; everyone wanted a piece of me, including me. With more experience, God was showing me how to pray.

Mom Prayer Life #3

  • Lord, show me how to train my children in Your ways. Please help me be a good mom! Please show me how to guide them onto the right path. Teach me from Your word, and allow me to teach my children from it. Give me joy in the good moments, and trust You in the hard moments. Allow me to be the best that I can be. Please guide me when I need it and give me time with You daily. Show me how to be a blessing to my family. In Your precious name, Jesus!

One More Prayer For The Win…

This mom-thing is still a bit of work, even with them all grown up now. BUT… there’s a whole lot more joy and a little less struggle these days, I think!?! Nowadays, I’ve learned to praise God first, thank Him second and then ask God to show me how to pray.

  • I praise You for your goodness in the past, present, and future! Thank You for my children and the blessing they are to me and others! Continue to show me how to pray! Please help me be a godly example to them and shine Your glory as a reminder of how great you are. Draw my family to You daily, so we have a desire to spend time in prayer and the study of Your Word. Show me how to be a blessing to my family. In Your powerful name, Jesus!
To the woman, he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor, you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” Genesis 3:16

Our prayers will continue to change as we grow more each day. I always pray for God to help me to know him intimately and for him to provide wisdom, knowledge, incite, and discernment every day. I love reading your prayers and seeing the changes. Loving God is about growing more every day.

This is beautiful! I hear your mama’s heart and my heart echoes with your prayers. I continue to pray for wisdom in how to lead my kiddos. Prayer for wisdom is something I cry often to the Lord as He is the One that knows what each of my kids need. Thank-you for sharing this!

Dear God, I pray that You would give my friend an extra helping of wisdom she needs every day when raising her kids. Please add discernment and understanding, so she knows how to lead. Bless her for her willingness to pray for those You put in her care. In Jesus’ name, amen.
